What information do I need to integrate Cyber Guardian with Microsoft Entra ID?
To integrate Cyber Guardian with Microsoft Entra ID to enable automatic mailbox and alias synchronisation, three pieces of information are required: Tenant ID, Application ID (Client ID) and Application Secret (Client Secret).
What is the Tenant ID and where can I find it?
The Tenant ID is the unique identifier for the organisation within Microsoft Entra ID. You can find it by accessing the Microsoft Entra admin centre and navigating to Microsoft Entra ID → Overview, where the Tenant ID field will be displayed.
Microsoft provides an official guide explaining how to find it.
What is the Application ID?
The Application ID, also known as the Client ID, identifies the application that Cyber Guardian will use to connect to the directory. If a dedicated application for the integration does not yet exist, one must first be created through an App Registration.
Microsoft provides a guide explaining how to create an application.
Once created, the value can be obtained from Applications → App registrations → [Application] → Overview, in the Application (client) ID field.
What is the Application Secret?
The Application Secret (or Client Secret) is a credential that allows the application to authenticate securely with Microsoft Entra ID. If one does not already exist, it must be generated from the registered application by going to Certificates & secrets → Client secrets → New client secret.
Microsoft provides a guide documenting this procedure.
⚠️ Important: Microsoft only displays the full Application Secret value once, when it is created. Store it securely before closing the window, as you will not be able to view it again afterwards.
Once you have obtained the Tenant ID, Application ID and Application Secret, you can enter them in Cyber Guardian to complete the integration with Microsoft Entra ID.
